A Few Outfit Updates

Everything's a bit hectic with all the things going on at work along with trying to uphold a social life, sell everything I own on eBay and find a new home. So in the evenings I tend to just lie around and be lazy. That is my excuse for the lack of blogging.

I figured I'd just post a few outfits from the mornings I had time to take photos. Perhaps I'll do this each week to make up for the fact that I have no time for much more at the moment!

Boyfriend's Megadeth tee and AA jeans for the dreaded day after a work night out.

Neon jumper & leopard satchel

Daisy top & Riding pants

This was my first day outfit - as close as I'll ever get to smart casual!

We have a big events on tomorrow and Sunday which both are looking to be super cool so I'll take some pics and make a post from that along with more outfits and buys. My shopping has been lacking now I'm mega poor!

Jubilee Weekend

Happy Jubilee Queenie! On Sunday, despite my hangover, I was up bright and early to go watch the Jubilee celebrations from Chelsea Embankment. My photos aren't very clear, but what can you do with an iPhone camera and a river between you.

I'll pre-warn that this is a reasonably photo heavy post!

I was really close to the front which made it warmer against the horrible day. However it also meant I was surrounded by flag waving idiots who had covered themselves in Union Jacks. Yuck. I'm all for patriotism, but some people don't know when to stop.

Then on Monday was the Banquet Big Day Out, a local festival put on by Kingston record store, Banquet Records. I was too drunk to take that many photos, but I did manage to sneak in some outfit snaps before we left.

Shirt - H&M
Shorts - Vintage Levi's
Jacket - Topshop
Scarf - Charity shop
Trilby - Charity shop
Pearl collar - Primark
Backpack - Topshop
Socks - Primark
Wellies - Reading Festival
Rings - Oasis & eBay
Bracelets - Oasis, Topshop & H&M

I didn't actually end up wearing my wellies since it wasn't raining as much as I expected so I swapped them for my flatforms which are now a complete mess! We only saw about 3 bands, one of which was Wheatus! But it was a fun day anyway seeing as nobody was particularly bothered about the music side, especially when the bars started doing 2-4-1 drinks.

"What were you doing?" You ask. Well, I have no idea either but it was bloody good fun and yesterday was a painful recovery! But now it's back to real life - the bank holiday is over and I have to spend my days behind a bar not in front of/dying on one. Cry.

Hope you all enjoyed the Jubilee too!

Denim, Pearls and Disco Pants

Off to see the Cribs at New Slang tonight. Not actually listened to anything they've done since about 2006 but as long as I'm drunk with friends I don't care.

Fed up of my extensive yet boring wardrobe, I impulsively cut the sleeves off of this denim shirt. Luckily I don't think it turned out too bad, but I thought I should probably try and rock it tonight just so that it's not been totally wasted!

Shirt - Topshop (customised)
Pearl collar - Primark
Trilby - Charity shop
Disco Pants - American Apparel
Boots - Kingston

I'm so excited for my jam packed Jubilee weekend. Hopefully tonight will start it off perfectly. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow as I die of hangover in bed.
Have a good evening!

This Week's Top Buys: GOT THE JOB

I GOT THE JOB! Not the blog job that I posted the outfit for, but the boring-outfit, big, scary, media job that I was never going to get because I sucked in the interview and 800+ people applied for the position - that job.

I had pretty much forgotten about the whole experience and set my heart on the bag blog job which, despite being a pretty fab job, was basically unpaid, with only expenses and "pocket money" which wouldn't get me anywhere living in London.

On top of finishing uni and getting a job, this week has also been rad for my housemate who finished her degree yesterday and has just arrived home to tell me she's passed her driving test so congrats to her <3

Naturally, I celebrated in the only way I know how (other than getting really drunk). I shopped.

Black and white lace bralet/crop tops

Pearl collar teamed with breton top
My favourite new babies

Tomorrow night is go!
Bralets - Primark; £4 each
Easy Jeans - American Apparel via Maudie's eBay; £20 (RRP £64)
Jumper - Topshop via eBay; £15 (RRO £26)
Breton top - Charity shop; £6
Pearl Collar - Primark; £6
Spike boots - Random Kingston shop; £30

I've been searching for a good breton top for ages since spilling bleach on my trusty old one which was inherited from one of my mum's '80s wardrobe clearouts. I've also been on the hunt for a good lace bralet without forking out Urban Outfitters prices. I'd have posted in a picture in the white one, but since it doesn't have padding I thought it would be a bit rude!

Mauds was selling her Easy Jeans and, as a sucker for anything American Apparel/high waisted, I put in a bid and now have one more pair to add to my collection.

But best of all are my new studded boots. Along with the rest of the world, I've been lusting after the spiked Jeffrey Campbell Lita's for as long as I can remember, but when I saw these babies for just £30 in a random shoe shop in town, I couldn't resist. I'd just got a job, just finished uni, and they were a bargain. Yeah, they're not real... But I'm still on a student budget!

Naturally, this has done wonders for my party plans:

  • New attire
  • Sexy shoes
  • Finished uni
  • Got a job
  • Vicky's finished uni
  • Vicky's passed her driving test
  • I found a sneaky bottle of wine left under a table at work
  • The Cribs are playing at New Slang
THURSDAY NIGHT IS GO!
