A Few Outfit Updates

Everything's a bit hectic with all the things going on at work along with trying to uphold a social life, sell everything I own on eBay and find a new home. So in the evenings I tend to just lie around and be lazy. That is my excuse for the lack of blogging.

I figured I'd just post a few outfits from the mornings I had time to take photos. Perhaps I'll do this each week to make up for the fact that I have no time for much more at the moment!

Boyfriend's Megadeth tee and AA jeans for the dreaded day after a work night out.

Neon jumper & leopard satchel

Daisy top & Riding pants

This was my first day outfit - as close as I'll ever get to smart casual!

We have a big events on tomorrow and Sunday which both are looking to be super cool so I'll take some pics and make a post from that along with more outfits and buys. My shopping has been lacking now I'm mega poor!

This Week's Top Buys #6

This week I've been making the most of my time before real life kicks in with my first day at my new job tomorrow. I'm looking forward to everything except the early mornings and have done my first food shop in months to make sure I have some nice breakfasts to get up for!

Urban Outfitters
The majority of my week has obviously been spend shopping, and my best bargains were found during Friday's trip to Westfield.

I've not been to Urban Outfitters for so long that I decided to splash out. Not usually one for bargains, I was happy to find all their graphic print tees were on offer at £20 - this daisy crop top was my favourite.

I also picked up this Mickey Mouse crop top for £14 and leopard print handbag for £10 in the sale.

Another surprise bargain was in American Apparel who happened to be having one of their rare and pretty pathetic 'sales'.

This dress was reduced from £50 to £35 and once I'd settled on the black over pink or lilac, I decided it was better than spending £70 on yet another pair of disco pants, no matter now much I feel like I need them.
American Apparel

Then we headed to Chelsea for dinner but on the way I had to pop into Oxfam where I got this black lace top for £7 and a Warehouse batwing cardigan for £11.

Though not exactly bargains when it comes to charity shopping, Chelsea's second hand stores accept only the best quality clothing, most of which is high end and the majority only just off the shelves. Not great for thrifty or unique finds, these are the best places to go for discounted high street or designer fashion.

But probably the best bargain of the week was this white 3D mesh flower top. I already have a pink version but I won this one on eBay for 99p! The ultimate bargain which will look cute with shorts in summer but for now goes great with just jeans and loafers for lazy days like today.

In other, far more boring news, I have adjusted the width of my page so I can use extra large pictures!
Hope you've all enjoyed the weekend.

This Week's Top Buys: GOT THE JOB

I GOT THE JOB! Not the blog job that I posted the outfit for, but the boring-outfit, big, scary, media job that I was never going to get because I sucked in the interview and 800+ people applied for the position - that job.

I had pretty much forgotten about the whole experience and set my heart on the bag blog job which, despite being a pretty fab job, was basically unpaid, with only expenses and "pocket money" which wouldn't get me anywhere living in London.

On top of finishing uni and getting a job, this week has also been rad for my housemate who finished her degree yesterday and has just arrived home to tell me she's passed her driving test so congrats to her <3

Naturally, I celebrated in the only way I know how (other than getting really drunk). I shopped.

My favourite new babies

Tomorrow night is go!
Bralets - Primark; £4 each
Easy Jeans - American Apparel via Maudie's eBay; £20 (RRP £64)
Jumper - Topshop via eBay; £15 (RRO £26)
Breton top - Charity shop; £6
Pearl Collar - Primark; £6
Spike boots - Random Kingston shop; £30

I've been searching for a good breton top for ages since spilling bleach on my trusty old one which was inherited from one of my mum's '80s wardrobe clearouts. I've also been on the hunt for a good lace bralet without forking out Urban Outfitters prices. I'd have posted in a picture in the white one, but since it doesn't have padding I thought it would be a bit rude!

Mauds was selling her Easy Jeans and, as a sucker for anything American Apparel/high waisted, I put in a bid and now have one more pair to add to my collection.

But best of all are my new studded boots. Along with the rest of the world, I've been lusting after the spiked Jeffrey Campbell Lita's for as long as I can remember, but when I saw these babies for just £30 in a random shoe shop in town, I couldn't resist. I'd just got a job, just finished uni, and they were a bargain. Yeah, they're not real... But I'm still on a student budget!

Naturally, this has done wonders for my party plans:

  • New attire
  • Sexy shoes
  • Finished uni
  • Got a job
  • Vicky's finished uni
  • Vicky's passed her driving test
  • I found a sneaky bottle of wine left under a table at work
  • The Cribs are playing at New Slang
THURSDAY NIGHT IS GO!

Interview Outfit

What a lovely day! And how typical that I'm spending it finishing deadlines and preparing for yet another interview.
I'm off for a meeting this evening about a very exciting looking job. It's taking place in Starbucks, so I didn't want to look too dressed up and thought this kimono, which I believe Hannah has just done an outfit post in as well (great taste!), would be perfect for the occasion and the weather.
I had another one yesterday but that was a very boring riding pants/lace shirt look so didn't even bother with a post.
Hope you're all having a lovely day in the sun!

Outfit of Topshop Buys

My final final final deadline is on Friday and I'm not quite as on track as I should be, but there's always time for an outfit post! This is actually from Thursday evening when I just went to a bar for cocktails so it's nothing special but it features all my Thursday Buys and I've got blogging withdrawal so... Sorry!

I had an interview this morning and have a very exciting meeting tomorrow evening so fingers crossed for them! But now it's back to work.

A few awkward photos - I'm yet to master modelling! But I keep being told to smile. All those people will now live to regret their decision...

Hope you all have a far more fun week than I will!

Shopaholic

Oh my God, I can't stop shopping. After vowing to give it a rest after Thursday's Topshop spree, Friday lead to straight to Fulham where I charity-shopped some more. Oops! Who needs a fur coat in May? Me, apparently. We stumbled across a Cancer Research with a half price sale, so it was only £12.50.

To be honest I'll probably get some wear out of it if the weather doesn't brighten up soon.

Fur coat - Cancer Research, Fulham; £12.50
Blouse - British Heart Foundation, Fulham; £2.80

Getting into the neon nails and nude lips look, I bought this set of bright polishes from Primark for just £2. The lipsticks, which don't look like this in real life and will feature in a beauty post very soon, are Sleek, 'Baby Doll' and Barry M in '147'. Another upcoming beauty post will feature No. 7's Revitalising Hand Saviour - perfect for anyone with dry skin on their hands and fingers.

Thursday Spending

In celebration of having (almost) completed all of my hand-ins, I did some spending today. It's been a while since I went high street shopping properly so, since Topshop is pretty much the only shop in Putney, I headed there.

I have pretty much no money and am constantly being reminded of how I need to start 'saving', but since falling in love with my bargain lilac jeans, I've become obsessed with coloured skinnies - high waisted only.

Apologies for the poor quality iPhone photos, as always!

Jeans - 'Kristen' High waisted skinnies; £25
Mint cropped vest top - £6
Rings - £4.50
Necklace - £3.50
Lipstick - 'Brighton Rock' - £7

I've loved these jeans for so so long but they never have my size, especially when sales hit, so when I saw these babies in a size 6 today I had to snap them up... With a lipstick to match, obviously!

Another for my cropped collection is this minty racer back vest. There's a 2 for £10 offer but since I had some form of crop top in each of the other colours I resisted and am very proud of myself! Also, when taking these pictures, I decided I'll probably wear all of this together so all in all I've got myself an outfit for around £35 (incl. student discount).

Not bad, eh?!
Anyway, a night of mojitos awaits me... Have a fun Thursday. xo

Yin Yang Leggings

These arrived this morning so I obviously had to do an outfit post before heading off to Putney for the day to waste more time and money shopping, no doubt.

Feeling pretty uninspired today and couldn't be bothered to rummage through my wardrobe properly, but I've never worn this top despite buying it a few months back so thought I'd give it ago.

Also, a quick rant... This necklace arrived from Hong Kong this morning and literally fell apart in my hands. Luckily it only cost £1.40 but it was supposed to have 5 other chains attached and be much longer. I've improvised by tying the chain since the hook and eye fell off. Complaints have been made!
