Denim, Pearls and Disco Pants

Off to see the Cribs at New Slang tonight. Not actually listened to anything they've done since about 2006 but as long as I'm drunk with friends I don't care.

Fed up of my extensive yet boring wardrobe, I impulsively cut the sleeves off of this denim shirt. Luckily I don't think it turned out too bad, but I thought I should probably try and rock it tonight just so that it's not been totally wasted!

I'm so excited for my jam packed Jubilee weekend. Hopefully tonight will start it off perfectly. I'll tell you all about it tomorrow as I die of hangover in bed.

The Thought Factory presents ACID Magazine

I've only just recovered from the ACID launch party at The Queen of Hoxton on Tuesday night. I was expecting the best night, and it exceeded that. Lucy and Lucy did such a fab job organising, setting up and running the whole thing. From the '90s pick n mix sweets all over the tables to the amazing fashion show, everything was great. But by far my favourite part of the night was the photo booth!!

So. Much. Fun. Last thing I remember I was podium dancing at G-A-Y. Not particularly sensible seeing as I had an exam the next morning but we'll see how that turns out!

ACID Baby

So I'm off to the ACID Magazine launch at the Queen of Hoxton. So much hard work as gone in on the part of so many people. Tonight should be a blast! Pre-party post to come, I would imagine, to make up for the overwhelming vanity of this one...

They've arrived! And I've gone unintentionally (kind of) baroque/leopard print mad this week! These leggings don't quite come up high enough to be able to match them with a crop top but at £4 I do not care. This American Apparel gauze t-shirt will do for a summery feel.

How pretty are the sunbeams through my window?

On Tuesday I was dying of a hangover after a spontaneous night out, but my boyfriend convinced me to go to Richmond with him where I got these cute t-shirts. The black one's nothing special but was £7 and this amazing blue baroque one was only £12!

The animal print top on the left is a tie up shirt with 3/4 length sleeves which I found at the same time as the pink shirt/blazer in my last post.
It was only £3.30 and will look fab with shorts, jeans, leggings... It will go with anything!

But my favourite buy of the week was on Monday we went to Westfield. It was such a lovely day and the boy and I just popped in before heading East to meet friends, and I came away with a beautiful pair of American Apparel Easy Jeans in Light Wash Indigo, which are essentially denim disco pants, and this black jersey crop top.

American Apparel is one of my favourite high street stores because, despite being insanely over priced, I've never been able to find another shop with such perfectly form fitting high waisted trousers. I basically refuse to wear anything that isn't high waisted so, whilst their extortionate rates for average quality t-shirts is something to avoid, American Apparel is the one for stylish bottoms, and well worth the price tag.

I've blogged before about American Apparel budget issues, and, if like me you're a sucker for crop tops the second the sun comes out, Topshop have the perfect solution. Again not known for being overly affordable, Topshop have caught on to the crop top love that is spreading it's way into every summer wardrobe and, rather than forking out £21 on the American Apparel version, this baby rib crop top is just £8 and though I was boring and chose white, it is available in a range of different colours.

American Apparel Obsession on a Budget

I've been in love with American Apparel for longer than I can remember.

Don't get me wrong - I hate their never changing line of stock, their numerous outdated items, the shabby quality and the staggering price tag. But when American Apparel get it right, they get it so so right.

As the proud owner of too many pairs of AA trousers, I think it is this area in which they excel. Basic tops can be found anywhere, but their disco pants and riding pants are totally unique, and their high waisted jeans are the most form flattering I've ever found.

But now the end of uni is edging closer and closer, and my bank balance is running dry. But it seems as though the shopping Gods have been watching over me, as today, on my usual eBay procrastination trawl, I stumbled upon these:

They don't look it, but these leggings have the stretch to become high waisted very easily and with the snap of  a belt the ugly waistline is hidden and voila! For just £6.50 I've recreated the style that has previously cost me up to £70.

As far as black disco pants go, I've worn them constantly for the past 6 months and don't intend to give them up any time soon, but for the jazzier colours which I will wear as more of a novelty, these are absolutely perfect.

And that's why I love eBay!
