Hey all, it's been such a long time since I posted, but I've decided to set up a new blog. Since taking on jobs as a professional blogger, it's been hard to differentiate the time between personal and business blogging.
ellafloxo has become too vague, with no direction, and I've generally become lethargic when it comes to thinking up new content. Not good!
My new venture, however, is more inspired. It follows my struggle between affording to live in London and affording to dress the way I want to on a budget - a constant battle for so many of us!
I aim to update daily, with outfit inspiration, bargain buys and tips on reinventing capsule wardrobe pieces.
Spread the word and check it out HERE!

Autumn Look #2
Autumn look number 2 was thrown together in a rush this morning, but the more I look at it the more I like it. I like the combination of autumny colours, as well as the obligatory addition of fur.
I'm kind of going off the camo look, but with a chunky cardi and a stole it doesn't feel quite so typically East London! Also say hello again to my marl grey tee. I never take it off.

I had to put wedges on to avoid feeling like a boy, but I think that variations of this look will make an appearance throughout the season. Next week I'll be back with a more evening style look.
Have a good weekend!

Autumn Look #1
So since taking up jobs as a blogger for two fashion brands, it's kind of become hard to disassociate this with work! But this week I thought I'd put up a few of my autumn looks. October is probably my favourite month of the year. I love the colour of the sky and the crunchy leaves and the coolness of the air. I love that it's not quite cold enough to be housebound, but still crisp enough for wooly jumpers and jackets.
Autumn clothing is by far my favourite. Layering for the sake of fashion and not purely to stop yourself from catching frost bite is a great feeling! So in honour of my favourite season, I'll be posting some of my favourite looks throughout the month.
Number One: Leather & Marl
I finally own the perfect marl t-shirt, which took a while since Topshop seem to have decided to stop making grey tees. Teamed with leather trousers that I've only worn once since buying them last year, and a mac which I dug out from one of my 'To Sell' bags, this is a really simple outfit which I could have put together years ago, but for some reason I just love it.
t
I'm not used to taking photos of myself anymore, hence the awkward poses!
Today I went to an LCF's Framed exhibition and Starbucks for a catch up with a friend and then on to work to get some ideas for blog posts, and it was perfect. Warm, comfortable and just one of those outfits that made me feel good about myself.
Plain as it is, the leather trousers make it a good day-to-night transitional outfit, as well as a welcome change from leggings or jeans, and the glittery boots funk it up a bit. It's easy to wear and great for pretty much any situation.
I'll be back soon with more autumny goodness!

I'm Back!
It's been about three months since I last posted - I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I have a good excuse.
I've finished uni with a 2:1, done three months work experience in marketing, found myself a couple of new jobs for when I leave next week, and moved into my pretty new E1 flat. In between that I've been out having fun in the occasional spots of sun, so blogging ran a bit dry.
I've got lots more blogs planned for the near future, so don't lose faith in me. I've changed my slacking ways, I promise. But for now, hello again, and here is my new abode.
Hope you've all had a lovely summer. Keep an eye out for more posts heading your way very soon!

A Few Outfit Updates
Everything's a bit hectic with all the things going on at work along with trying to uphold a social life, sell everything I own on eBay and find a new home. So in the evenings I tend to just lie around and be lazy. That is my excuse for the lack of blogging.
I figured I'd just post a few outfits from the mornings I had time to take photos. Perhaps I'll do this each week to make up for the fact that I have no time for much more at the moment!

This was my first day outfit - as close as I'll ever get to smart casual!
We have a big events on tomorrow and Sunday which both are looking to be super cool so I'll take some pics and make a post from that along with more outfits and buys. My shopping has been lacking now I'm mega poor!

Sunday Thoughts
I finished my book today. That always puts me in a strange mood, like I'm still kind of trapped in it, surrounded by the characters and empathising with their lives even though they're over.
So I went for a walk and realised, probably for the first time ever, that nothing was wrong, and everything in my life is alright. It's quite enlightening to actually comprehend that kind of thing.
So now I'm settling into my job and getting used to juggling life and full-time work, I'll update with some shopping/outfit posts in the week.
Just thought I'd drop in. It's been a while xo

Working Woman
Don't think I'm neglecting you! I'm just super busy trying to get to grips with full time work. At the moment I'm taking part in a training programme which is not only very interesting but fun, friendly, and has so far featured plenty of Italian food. Safe to say I'm enjoying it.
Monday was my first day at my new desk, which had a bottle of Stella Cidre left on it - apparently a remnant of Friday evening, when everyone starts drinking at their computers from 4pm! This is definitely my kind of job. Along with that, I was actually assigned the task of 'spending an hour watching cute animal videos on YouTube.' I do this shit for free as it is!
I've stolen a few pics from the Facebook page to give you a short tour of my swanky new office.
Thank God I love this job because I really don't think I'm cut out for full time office work in a place without a bar and roof garden! On Thursday we're going for beers and bowling at All Star Lanes and there are loads of events and parties coming up which I'll be sure to document.

As for outfits, we're allowed to wear what we want but I've been in too much of a rush in the mornings to be blogging! Never fear though, I've taken photos and will do a kind of 'week of outfits' post on the weekend perhaps.
Hope the rain isn't ruining your week!

This Week's Top Buys #6
This week I've been making the most of my time before real life kicks in with my first day at my new job tomorrow. I'm looking forward to everything except the early mornings and have done my first food shop in months to make sure I have some nice breakfasts to get up for!
Urban Outfitters |
I've not been to Urban Outfitters for so long that I decided to splash out. Not usually one for bargains, I was happy to find all their graphic print tees were on offer at £20 - this daisy crop top was my favourite.
I also picked up this Mickey Mouse crop top for £14 and leopard print handbag for £10 in the sale.
Another surprise bargain was in American Apparel who happened to be having one of their rare and pretty pathetic 'sales'.
This dress was reduced from £50 to £35 and once I'd settled on the black over pink or lilac, I decided it was better than spending £70 on yet another pair of disco pants, no matter now much I feel like I need them.
American Apparel |
Then we headed to Chelsea for dinner but on the way I had to pop into Oxfam where I got this black lace top for £7 and a Warehouse batwing cardigan for £11.
Though not exactly bargains when it comes to charity shopping, Chelsea's second hand stores accept only the best quality clothing, most of which is high end and the majority only just off the shelves. Not great for thrifty or unique finds, these are the best places to go for discounted high street or designer fashion.

In other, far more boring news, I have adjusted the width of my page so I can use extra large pictures!
Hope you've all enjoyed the weekend.

Jubilee Weekend
Happy Jubilee Queenie! On Sunday, despite my hangover, I was up bright and early to go watch the Jubilee celebrations from Chelsea Embankment. My photos aren't very clear, but what can you do with an iPhone camera and a river between you.
I'll pre-warn that this is a reasonably photo heavy post!
I was really close to the front which made it warmer against the horrible day. However it also meant I was surrounded by flag waving idiots who had covered themselves in Union Jacks. Yuck. I'm all for patriotism, but some people don't know when to stop.

Then on Monday was the Banquet Big Day Out, a local festival put on by Kingston record store, Banquet Records. I was too drunk to take that many photos, but I did manage to sneak in some outfit snaps before we left.
Shirt - H&M
Shorts - Vintage Levi's
Jacket - Topshop
Scarf - Charity shop
Trilby - Charity shop
Pearl collar - Primark
Backpack - Topshop
Socks - Primark
Wellies - Reading Festival
Rings - Oasis & eBay
Bracelets - Oasis, Topshop & H&M
I didn't actually end up wearing my wellies since it wasn't raining as much as I expected so I swapped them for my flatforms which are now a complete mess! We only saw about 3 bands, one of which was Wheatus! But it was a fun day anyway seeing as nobody was particularly bothered about the music side, especially when the bars started doing 2-4-1 drinks.
"What were you doing?" You ask. Well, I have no idea either but it was bloody good fun and yesterday was a painful recovery! But now it's back to real life - the bank holiday is over and I have to spend my days behind a bar not in front of/dying on one. Cry.
Hope you all enjoyed the Jubilee too!
